A fire broke out in the basement of Aayakar Bhavan, the Income Tax office in Mumbai’s Churchgate, on Monday afternoon. The Mumbai Fire Brigade was alerted at 2.01 pm, with around 20 fire tenders and several firefighting vehicles deployed to control the blaze. No injuries have been reported so far

The fire was confined to the basement of the basement-plus-ground-plus-seven-storey building. Fire brigade personnel were carrying out operations to evacuate people stranded on the upper floors.
