At least 17 people were killed and 44 injured after Russia launched a large-scale overnight missile and drone attack on Kyiv and the surrounding region. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said civilian warehouses, infrastructure and a railway station were among the targets.

Senior Iranian adviser Mohsen Rezaee said Tehran had prepared retaliatory strikes on targets inside Ukraine after an attack on an Iranian commercial vessel in the Caspian Sea. He claimed the operation was suspended after Kyiv said the incident had been "a mistake."
