United States intercepted an Iran-bound cargo vessel in the Gulf of Oman recently. The ship, identified as Touska, was stopped as part of ongoing blockade enforcement in the region. Former US official Nikki Haley has raised concerns about a possible China–Iran link, suggesting the cargo could be connected to missile-related materials. 

The US naval blockade on Iran is already facing its first major test as multiple tankers, including a sanctioned China-linked vessel, successfully crossed the Strait of Hormuz — one of the world’s most critical oil chokepoints. Despite strong warnings from Washington, ships like the Rich Starry managed to pass through, raising serious questions about the effectiveness of the blockade. Iran has mocked the US response, suggesting the move lacks real enforcement power.
