According to officials, children were celebrating Dahi Handi on their own when the incident occurred. The rope holding the handi had been tied between a tree and a brick column of the ground-floor structure

A seven-year-old boy was killed after a brick column of a ground-floor structure collapsed on him during a local Dahi Handi celebration in Malvani, Malad West, on Saturday afternoon, officials said.

The incident was reported around 3.01 pm at Ekta Welfare Society, Room No 23, in Chikuwadi, Malvani, along Marve Road.
