Rashmika Mandanna is set to take on one of the most challenging roles of her career as she portrays legendary Carnatic vocalist and Bharat Ratna awardee M.S. Subbulakshmi in an upcoming biopic. The project, which has been generating buzz for some time, will be officially launched in Chennai on September 16.

Sharing about the grand announcement of having Rashmika as lead, the team shared in the post, "A LEGACY begins with an unforgettable celebration. Witness the grand launch of MS - A Legacy On Screen, celebrating Bharat Ratna MS Subbulakshmi Amma's 110th Birth Anniversary with Ulaganayagan. Kamal Haasan garu as Chief Guest. Starring Rashmika Mandanna." The film will be directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, best known for films such as Jersey, and will feature music by Anirudh Ravichander. The project is being jointly produced by Allu Aravind, Bunny Vasu and Rockline Venkatesh.
