FIIs remain net sellers for sixth straight week; offload equities worth Rs 11,490 crore

Since the start of September, FIIs have sold a net Rs 18,531 crore worth equities, while DIIs were net purchasers, buying equities worth Rs 52,617 crore providing cushion to the Nifty that slipped 3.90 per cent from its August-end close of 24,080.40

Amid a sharp spike in the crude oil prices and the higher US bond yields, the foreign institutional investors (FIIS) continued to be net sellers in the Indian equity market for the sixth consecutive week according to analysts.

The domestic institutional investors (DIIs) continued to remain net buyers providing the cushion to the market indices against a steep decline.
