I am a big fan of ASMR, and I have been tripping on travel ASMR from Japan and Korea. Many women from the two countries share their lives, their travels, the stores they go to, the food they eat, and it’s calming to watch. These videos don’t have voiceovers, just captions and light music. My favourite is Tuma — Daily in Japan. Tuma is a 30-something divorcee who lives in Tohuku region of rural Japan. She broke away from a marriage and a 9-to-5 salaryman job common in Japan, and is living an independent, single life. I love her because of her dry wit. For example, Her videos are titled “Loser Life”, “No friends”, and “No job, big tax”. She will make you feel heard, seen and it’s about making the best of what you have. As she says in her bio, she will be happy if you watch her videos and think, “If she’s okay, maybe I will be okay too”. Yes. That’s how I feel. Watch now.
