Ever since humans could, we have been trying to find ways to live longer. At first, it was to save ourselves from plagues and disease. Now, it’s more about “hacking” our body in an obsession to live forever.
When longevity enthusiast Bryan Johnson — whose bio reads ‘we may be the first generation who won’t die’ — announced that he was diagnosed with auto-immune gastritis (AIG), other biohackers descended upon his comment section, talking about measurements and blood tests and plasma parameters. To our surprise someone finally commented, “The way I see this is the same way I see it with most people who are stuck with autoimmune disease and feel like they’re ‘doing all the right things’... And maybe the relentless striving to be perfect with your health — as seen in biohacking, endless testing, and trying to become superhuman — is itself one of the underlying drivers.”
