<p>Christian Horner is to leave his role as <a href="https://mid-day.com/sports/other-sports/article/questions-swirl-as-red-bull-dumps-christian-horner-after-20-year-reign-23583900" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener"><strong>Red Bull</strong></a> team principal with immediate effect after 20 years, the <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/sports/other-sports/article/lando-norris-and-oscar-piastri-take-an-unusually-friendly-f1-title-rivalry-23581992" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener"><strong>F1</strong></a> team announced on Wednesday.&nbsp;<p>


<p>&ldquo;Red Bull has released Christian Horner from his duties with effect from 9 July 2025, and has appointed Laurent Mekies as CEO,&rdquo; read a statement from Red Bull.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Red Bull are currently fourth in the championship (172 pts), and trail leaders McLaren by 288 points.</p>
