Second seed Coco Gauff brushed off World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka’s outburst directed at her after losing the French Open final last month, with the American instead trying to save the Belarusian’s skin.

Sabalenka had claimed her loss to Gauff had more to do with her own mistakes than Gauff’s performance. 

The Belarusian has since publicly and personally apologised to the American, but faced plenty of backlash on social media.
