Olympic medalist and Commonwealth Games 2026 gold-winning weightlifter Mirabai Chanu expressed her gratitude following a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence, where she discussed her gold-medal campaign in Glasgow and the raw emotion of seeing the national flag raised.

PM Modi hosted India's Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games contingent on Sunday. In Glasgow, Chanu reinforced her status among India's elite lifters by capturing her third consecutive CWG gold medal in the 48kg category, adding to her 2018 gold in the 48kg event and her 2022 title in the 49kg category in Birmingham.
