Veteran Indian midfielder Manpreet Singh dedicated the men’s hockey team’s triumphant Asia Cup campaign to the victims of the devastating floods in his home state of Punjab, expressing solidarity with those battling the calamity back home.

Born into a farming family in Mithapur village near Jalandhar, the 33-year-old Olympic bronze medallist played a crucial role in India’s dominant performance throughout the tournament, which not only earned the team continental glory but also secured them a direct berth at the 2026 FIH World Cup in Belgium and the Netherlands.
