Indian football team captain Sunil Chhetri on Thursday credited the fighting spirit of the team for the country's SAFF Championship 2023 triumph and also lauded the support of the home fans.

India fought hard against two strong West Asian countries -- Lebanon and Kuwait, and beat them in penalty shootouts in the semifinal and final respectively to lift the title for the ninth time at Sri Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru on Tuesday.
