It has been a special weekend for New Yorkers. First, they celebrated the kickoff as USA host a FIFA World Cup after 32 years. Then, they celebrated USA’s 4-1 win over Paraguay. And last, but by no means least, it called for another grand celebration as New York Knicks clinched their first NBA title in over 50 years. The franchise’s previous titles occurred way back in 1970 and 1973. However, it’s the Brazil fans, who took over the city on Saturday, as their team played Morocco.

Over 80,000 fans watched the thrilling 1-1 draw between the five-time champions and African champions at the New York New Jersey Stadium here. It was a huge sea of yellow, comprising 70 per cent of the stadium, having a gala time, singing and dancing to Samba beats played across drums even as Vuvuzelas are banned. And despite the fact that their team did not put up an impressive show, the fans celebrated, both, in the stadium and later on the streets.
