Darwin Nunez
The Saudi Arabian league has secured its latest marquee signing in Uruguay’s Darwin Nunez, who has completed a move from Liverpool to Al-Hilal for a reported fee of $62 million (Rs 543 crore).
The striker has penned a three-year deal with his new club after spending three seasons with the Reds. Although he won the EPL last season, Nunez failed to nail down a spot at the Merseyside club as evidenced by his record — 40 goals scored in 143 matches.
With the arrival of Hugo Ekitike and Florian Wirtz, Nunez’s game time was expected to diminish. Additionally, his departure is likely to aid Liverpool’s pursuit of Newcastle Utd striker Alexander Isak.
