The<a href="https://www.mid-day.com/sports/cricket/photo/womens-t20-world-cup-2026-harmanpreet-kaur-devajit-saikia-amita-sharma-announce-india-squad-for-marquee-event-110922/1"> Women's T20 World Cup 2026</a> is all set to begin on June 12, with hosts England taking on Sri Lanka in the tournament opener at Edgbaston, Birmingham.&nbsp;
Ahead of the marquee event, India captain Harmanpreet Kaur said the team management is largely settled on its preferred playing XI.&nbsp;
"I feel we are pretty much clear, like what our XI is going to be going forward. I think we are pretty much clear and still we have two more games, practice games before the World Cup where we can still think about the other combinations," she said after suffering a loss against England in the third T20I match.
England, led by Charlie Dean, won the three-match T20I series 2-1.&nbsp;
Kaur also highlighted the contributions of Radha Yadav and Bharti Fulmali, saying the team management intends to provide them with opportunities during the warm-up matches.&nbsp;
"Radha is there. She did really well in WPL and she also feels ready. And apart from her, Bharti Fulmali is also there. She is a middle-order batter. She also batted really well. I think still we have two very good players who are sitting out and hopefully we will give them a fair chance in the practice games where we can see how they go about," said Kaur.
The Women in Blue will begin their campaign by playing a clash against arch-rivals,<a href="https://www.mid-day.com/sports/cricket/article/t20-world-cup-2026-despite-victory-pakistan-fail-to-qualify-for-the-semi-final-23618803"> Pakistan</a>, on June 14 at Edgbaston Stadium in Birmingham.
The semi-final 1 of the tournament is scheduled to be played on June 30th at The Oval in London, followed by the semi-final 2 on July 2 at the same venue.
The title clash of the mega event will be played on July 5 at the Lord's Cricket Ground in London.
