The sooner India picks him, the sooner they expose him to international cricket,” said Swann, who represented England in 60 Tests, 79 ODIs, and 39 T20Is

After a one-sided 0-2 T20I series defeat to Ireland, the Shreyas Iyer-led Indian team needs a player who can make an immediate impact in the upcoming five-match T20I series against England. Batting icon Sunil Gavaskar believes teen sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, yet to make his international debut, can provide India with the flying start they need against Harry Brook’s England side.
“I’m hoping he [Sooryavanshi] plays the first game because it’ll be the start of a new series and he can get the team off to a flying start. It’s the best way to recover from the series loss against Ireland,” Gavaskar told mid-day during a virtual media interaction organised by Sony Sports Network on Monday.
