<p>Renowned coach Vidyadhar Paradkar, who helped several cricketers including India stars <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/sports/cricket/article/ajinkya-rahane-on-his-test-comeback-at-35-what-do-you-mean-by-this-age-23297245" target="_blank" rel="none noopener"><strong>Ajinkya Rahane</strong></a> and Zaheer Khan, passed away at his Lamington Road residence on Sunday. He was 77.</p>
<p>Former Mumbai and Rajasthan Royals leg-spinner Pravin Tambe reckoned Paradkar&rsquo;s guidance was a turning point in his cricketing career. A film was made on Tambe&rsquo;s extraordinary life in 2022.</p>

<p>&ldquo;Earlier, my run-up was the traditional type, but Vidya sir guided me to come straighter. He also told me to cock my wrist while bowling and this helped me immensely. I learnt a lot from him&mdash;fight to win and never give up. His role was crucial in improving the performance of both Orient Shipping teams,&rdquo; Tambe told mid-day on Sunday.</p>
<p>Paradkar showcased fighting spirit while trying to overcome his ill health. &ldquo;He was so passionate about cricket that he used to coach cricketers despite his health issues. Till his last breath he was helping cricketers improve and was searching for new talent.</p>
<p>&ldquo;Reading the match perfectly was sir&rsquo;s best coaching quality. He was always busy with different strategies to plot the downfall of the opposition,&rdquo; Tambe added.</p><p>
