Abhishek Sharma took the game away from DC in the first innings, scoring his second-ever IPL hundred. The southpaw looked back to his best as he hit 10 fours and 10 sixes in his masterful knock.
Chasing 242 runs, <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/sports/cricket/article/ipl-2026-david-miller-finishing-touches-help-delhi-capitals-secure-win-over-royal-challengers-bengaluru-23626446" rel="nofollow">DC</a> got off to a quick start but lost key wickets in the middle. Nitish Rana was the best batter for the Capitals, scoring 57 runs off 30 balls, but the target was just too much to chase down for the visitors.
For SRH, Eshan Malinga was the star with the ball, taking 4 wickets in his four overs. The Sri Lankan was at his masterful best as he ran through the DC middle order, ending any hopes for a historic run-chase.
Speaking after the defeat, Axar Patel admitted that the bowling let his team down. He also praised the way Abhishek Sharma batted in the first innings.
