Former Australian pacer Glenn McGrath believes the long injury layoff could be a blessing in disguise for India's pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah, allowing him to return rested and refreshed to international cricket ahead of the ICC World Cup 2023.

Bumrah has been out of action since September 2022 when he played in a T20I against Australia in Hyderabad. He has been recovering from a lower back stress fracture for nearly a year. But now, the 29-year-old is set to make his comeback, leading India in a three-match T20I series against Ireland later this month.
