Zimbabwe is all set to lock horns with <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/sports/cricket/article/venkatesh-prasad-backs-rohit-sharma-and-virat-kohli-for-2027-odi-world-cup-23640871" rel="nofollow">Team India</a> in the three-match T20I series, beginning from July 23. The first match is scheduled to be played at the Harare Sports Club.
Ahead of the series, cricket fans will be excited to see Vaibhav Sooryavanshi take the field yet again. However, the left-handed batsman didn't taste much success in the concluded T20I series against England.

"Vaibhav is a supremely talented cricketer. If a 15-year-old kid is playing international cricket, criticising him after just two or three matches isn't justified. I think Vaibhav has a lot of very good senior cricketers around him. If he is managed and handled well, I think Vaibhav could be a generational talent," he said on JioStar.
The hosts' skipper also said that whatever feats Sooryavanshi has achieved are no small accomplishments.
"To see what he has done over the last year, what he has done for India Under-19, and the fact that he made his international debut at the same age, these are no small feats by any means. You don't get to hear such stories nowadays. Vaibhav is special. It will be important how he is managed and handled," said Raza.
Team India under the captaincy of Shreyas Iyer will enter the three-match series after suffering a loss against England. Earlier, the "Men in Blue" also faced a shocking defeat in the T20I series against Ireland. Since Iyer's appointment as captain in the shortest format, Team India has suffered two consecutive defeats. It will be interesting to see if Iyer and his men bounce back against Zimbabwe.
Additionally, <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/sports/cricket/article/ind-vs-eng-5th-t20i-parthiv-patel-questions-sanju-samson-omission-after-series-loss-against-england-23639199" rel="nofollow">wicketkeeper-batsman Sanju Samson</a> has been dropped from India's squad for the upcoming series.
So far, India has announced their squad for the upcoming T20I series against Zimbabwe.
