<a href="https://www.mid-day.com/sports/cricket/article/rachin-ravindra-reveals-manchester-city-as-his-favourite-football-club-23647034" rel="nofollow">New Zealand's star all-rounder Rachin Ravindra</a> is in doubt for the T20I series against Team India. The left-handed batsman has dislocated his shoulder during a promotional shoot.
The cricketer sustained an injury in an attempt to take a diving catch during a promotional shoot in Auckland on September 16.
Initial assessments by medical specialists on September 18 have ruled out major structural damage, but his return to cricketing action will depend on his progress during the first weeks of his rehabilitation, according to the <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/sports/cricket/article/international-cricket-council-introduces-new-formats-for-upcoming-odi-and-t20-world-cups-23639952" rel="nofollow">International Cricket Council (ICC)</a>.
Team India and New Zealand will lock horns against each other in the five-match T20I series. The match is scheduled to be played on October 22 at the Hagley Park South in the central city of Christchurch.
Considering Ravindra's injury, it remains unclear if he will be able to recover in time for the T20I series against the "Men in Blue".
New Zealand men's team head coach Rob Walter focused on Ravindra's long-term recovery.
"With a heavy schedule of <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/sports/cricket/article/england-survive-scare-to-seal-3-0-sweep-against-pakistan-23649749" rel="nofollow">Test cricket</a> in the next six months, we do not want to rush Rachin back sooner than we need to," he said, as quoted by the ICC.
"He is in great hands in terms of his rehab, and we look forward to welcoming him back soon," added Walter.
So far, Ravindra has played 24 Test matches and scored 1865 runs. His best score in the longest format of the game is 240 runs. The left-handed batsman has also represented New Zealand in 39 ODI matches and has garnered 1424 runs, with a career-best score of an unbeaten 123 runs. Having played 52 T20I matches so far, the 26-year-old cricketer has registered 759 runs, with his top score of 69 runs.
<h2>IND vs NZ T20Is: Venues and dates</h2>
The second <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/sports/cricket/article/ind-vs-jpn-t20i-japan-skipper-kendel-kadowaki-fleming-speaks-about-historic-clash-against-team-india-23649555" rel="nofollow">T20I</a> match will be played on October 24 at the same venue. The third T20I match is scheduled to be played on October 27 at the Wellington Regional Stadium in Wellington, followed by the fourth game on October 30 at the Eden Park in Auckland. The Seddon Park in Hamilton will host the fifth clash on November 1.
