Ahead of the match, India has suffered a severe blow as two pacers, Akash Deep and Arshdeep Singh, have been ruled out of the match due to injuries. Earlier, all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy was also ruled out for the remainder of the Test series as he sustained an injury during the gym session

In the fourth game of the five-match Test series, England captain Ben Stokes has won the toss and elected to bowl first against Team India in Manchester.
Currently, the hosts are leading the five-match Test series by 2-1 and have the opportunity to seal the series if they manage to win the ongoing match.
Heading into the fourth Test, the Ben Stokes-led England side only made one change to their playing XI. Liam Dawson has come in as a replacement for an injured Shoaib Bashir. The spinner was ruled out for the remainder of the series owing to an injury.
