Following a stellar start to his international journey, <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/sports/cricket/article/vaibhav-should-bleed-blue-soon-23632683" rel="nofollow">15-year-old prodigy Vaibhav Sooryavanshi</a> has taken a massive leap in the latest ICC Men's T20I Batting Rankings. The youngster jumped a staggering 230 spots to secure a career-high 48th position.&nbsp;
This rise comes after he scored 151 runs at an average of 50.33 during India's 3-0 series sweep over Zimbabwe in Harare, earning him the Player of the Series award.
Sooryavanshi now boasts 536 rating points, while his teammate <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/sports/cricket/article/great-feeling-to-help-team-win-kishan-23641639" rel="nofollow">Ishan Kishan</a> sits firmly at the top of the T20I batting charts. Kishan achieved a career-best 916 points following an 81-run knock in the second Zimbabwe T20I, ultimately finishing the series at 910 points. This keeps him well clear of second-placed Sahibzada Farhan, who currently holds 848 points.
Notably, Kishan's rating of 916 is the third-highest in T20I history, surpassing Indian stalwarts Suryakumar Yadav (912) and Virat Kohli (909). He trails only Abhishek Sharma, who holds the record of 931, and England's Dawid Malan at 919, according to the ICC.
<h2>Indian players make significant gains across formats</h2>
Other Indian batters also saw upward movement, with <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/sports/cricket/article/team-india-batsman-tilak-varma-speaks-about-his-batting-approach-23640968" rel="nofollow">Tilak Varma </a>advancing two places to sixth and Shreyas Iyer jumping seven places to 24th. In the bowling department, spinner Ravi Bishnoi jumped 31 spots to rank 41 after picking up three wickets against Zimbabwe.
For the host nation, Zimbabwe's Ryan Burl moved up six places to tie for 85th among batters, and pacer Blessing Muzarabani climbed 10 spots to reach 26th in the bowling rankings.
Shifting to the 50-over format, India's Shubman Gill reclaimed the world No. 1 ranking for ODI batters. He overtook New Zealand's Daryl Mitchell, who had held the top spot since January but missed his team's recent series against the West Indies.
In other ODI ranking news, Namibian spinner Bernard Scholtz climbed five places to seventh among bowlers following his strong showing in the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup League 2 tri-series in Utrecht.
In the Test rankings, West Indies all-rounder Justin Greaves made headlines with a remarkable performance against Pakistan in Trinidad, where he delivered five consecutive wicket maidens. This performance took him 21 places to 48th in the Test bowling rankings and lifted him eight spots to ninth among all-rounders.
