An impressive bowling display from English pacers Ollie Robinson, Josh Tongue, and Jofra Archer took the home side to a comfortable 194-run victory against Pakistan in the second Test at Lord's. The win gives England an unassailable 2-0 series lead with one match to go, marking a successful start to Joe Root's second stint as captain.
After winning the toss, Pakistan opted to field and quickly reduced the hosts to 77/4, led by an incisive opening spell from Mohammad Abbas. England slipped further to 120/5 before Jordan Cox (55 off 105 balls) and Jamie Smith (61 off 80 balls) mounted a 67-run recovery. Vital lower-order contributions from Gus Atkinson (45) and Josh Tongue (30) eventually pushed England's first-innings total to 290 in 66.4 overs, despite strong bowling from Abbas (4/73) and Mohammad Ali (3/86).
