Porel, who has previously represented the <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/sports/cricket/article/india-a-beat-sri-lanka-a-in-a-thriller-ruturaj-scores-ton-23634418" rel="nofollow">India-A team</a> during overseas tours to the United Kingdom and Australia, has refuted the claims.
The legal action was initiated by the woman and her mother at the Mogra Police Station located in the Hooghly district on Tuesday. Authorities confirmed they have launched an official inquiry into the claims.
The complainant stated that she and Porel were in a relationship for three years, noting that friction arose last year, after which the cricketer reportedly began to distance himself. She further asserted that Porel had committed to marrying her but had subsequently refused to follow through.
Within the complaint, the woman has alleged that Porel engaged in sexual intercourse based on the pretence of marriage, while also detailing accusations of battery and intimidation.
"We have received a complaint and started an investigation," a police official told PTI.

Porel dismissed the narrative as entirely fabricated. He further noted that he has not been approached by law enforcement regarding the ongoing matter.
"I am playing well now, so various things are coming up," Porel was quoted as saying in the media.
The 23-year-old athlete clarified that a comprehensive response would be provided once authorities conclude their preliminary groundwork.
"I will talk about this when the police investigate. I have not spoken to the police yet," he said.
The left-handed top-order batsman has been part of the <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/sports/cricket/article/ipl-2027-kuldeep-yadav-traded-to-lucknow-super-giants-rishabh-pant-returns-to-delhi-capitals-23636470" rel="nofollow">Delhi Capitals (DC)</a> roster in the Indian Premier League since his debut in 2023. During the previous competitive season, he accumulated 108 runs across four innings for the franchise.
His senior domestic career began during the 2021-22 season for Bengal, and he has since accumulated appearances in 32 first-class matches and 23 List A fixtures. The left-handed batter has previously represented the India A team in their tour of Australia and UK.
