Former India cricketer Cheteshwar Pujara has heaped praise on opener Abhishek Sharma for becoming the fastest batter to reach 2,000 T20I runs, drawing comparisons between his explosive style and West Indies legend Chris Gayle following his brilliant 30-ball 69 during the second T20I against the West Indies in Indore.

Ahead of the fourth T20I at Hyderabad's Uppal Stadium on Wednesday, Abhishek Sharma has scored 110 runs across three matches in the ongoing series. His impressive knock in Indore allowed him to break the record by reaching the 2,000-run milestone in just 1,024 deliveries.
