A night watermanship exercise involving the Army’s 1 Para Special Forces unit turned into a major rescue operation after a pneumatic boat capsized in strong currents near Haryana’s Hathnikund Barrage. Five jawans were swept away, while three managed to reach safety. Two soldiers remain missing as Army, IAF, NDRF, SDRF, police and civil administration teams continue the search across the downstream waterways.

The 'Asthi Visarjan' (immersion of ashes) ceremony for former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh took place at Yamuna Ghat near Gurdwara Majnu Ka Tilla.
