A major tragedy has unfolded in Uttar Pradesh’s Hamirpur after an under-construction bridge over the Betwa River collapsed during severe weather, leaving at least six workers dead and several others feared trapped beneath the rubble. The collapse reportedly happened as strong winds, heavy rain and storm conditions lashed the region, bringing down the slab, pier and shuttering structure at the construction site. Rescue teams, including SDRF personnel and local authorities, rushed to the spot and launched an urgent search operation as workers remained buried under the debris.
