The Delhi government has announced that it will not pursue further adverse legal action against people involved in the NEET protest movement, although the relief does not apply to individuals with criminal antecedents. The NEET protest movement appears to have entered a new phase after activist Sonam Wangchuk welcomed the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill, 2026, calling it a positive step towards education reform. Meanwhile, Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke has intensified his criticism of the Centre, alleging that the crackdown on NEET protesters was ordered by Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

Former Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has resigned following the nationwide controversy over the NEET paper leak. Pradhan says he stepped down in the larger national interest and to prevent anti-national forces from exploiting the situation. Meanwhile, Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) protesters celebrated at Jantar Mantar, with founder Abhijeet Dipke claiming the government was forced to bow before public pressure. Sonam Wangchuk also declared victory but said the protest would continue until broader demands are addressed.
