Germany's Leipzig/Halle Airport, one of Europe's busiest air cargo hubs, was thrust into a major security emergency after an explosive-laden drone was discovered within the airport premises, triggering a high-alert response and a large-scale bomb disposal operation. According to authorities, the suspicious drone was spotted by an airport employee before specialists safely removed its detonator, preventing what could have become a devastating incident. Airport operations were severely disrupted as runways were temporarily shut and security personnel swept the area for additional threats. The investigation has since widened after reports emerged of a possible second drone or unidentified flying object in the vicinity. Authorities are examining whether the incident could have been part of a broader or coordinated operation. The search has now expanded across Saxony, with investigators attempting to determine the drone's origin, flight path and those responsible. WATCH
