United States and Saudi Arabia carried out joint airstrikes against Iran-backed armed groups in Iraq. According to U.S. and Saudi officials, the strikes were launched in retaliation for drone attacks on Saudi oil facilities allegedly originating from Iraq. Iran-backed Popular Mobilisation Forces say at least 20 of their members were killed and 32 wounded in attacks on multiple bases.
