Girgaum Chowpatty

Workers from Noida in Uttar Pradesh are busy crafting a Ravana effigy at Chowpatty in South Mumbai ahead of Dussehra, as preparations gather pace for the annual festival marking the triumph of good over evil. The artisans were seen working on the effigy on Wednesday, assembling and shaping its structure for the upcoming Ramleela celebrations. The preparations form part of the traditional festivities observed during the Hindu festival season, when Ravana effigies are displayed and burnt to mark the victory of Lord Ram over the demon king Ravana.
