Israel-Hezbollah tensions have sharply escalated in southern Lebanon, with Israeli airstrikes killing four people, including two women, according to Lebanon’s Health Ministry. The Israeli military said the strikes came after Hezbollah launched two drones toward Israeli troops operating inside Israel’s self-declared security zone in southern Lebanon. Israel said there were no reports of Israeli soldiers being wounded. The latest escalation comes despite a U.S.-brokered ceasefire agreed between Israel and Hezbollah in June.

The US-Iran conflict has escalated after the US military struck three Iranian crude oil carriers, according to US Central Command. The strikes come amid fresh tensions in the Gulf, after Iran launched ballistic missiles at two US Navy ships. Meanwhile, explosions were reported near Iran’s Kharg Island, a critical oil export hub.
