A massive wildfire is spreading near Reno, Nevada, as the Hawk Fire threatens populated areas and forces tens of thousands of residents to prepare for evacuation. Around 90,000 people are reportedly in evacuation zones, with mandatory evacuation orders issued in several areas. A state of emergency has been declared as firefighters battle the blaze amid strong winds and dangerous conditions. The wildfire has already destroyed homes and disrupted power as emergency crews race to contain the flames.

More than 300,000 people have been evacuated or confined, while thousands of firefighters are racing to contain fires near Bordeaux and Madrid before another extreme heatwave arrives. French President Emmanuel Macron has chaired a crisis meeting as firefighters continue battling flames threatening communities across southwest France. In Spain, thousands remain displaced as authorities struggle to contain multiple wildfires.
