The development follows a meeting between Mumbai Mayor Ritu Tawde and Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel at his official residence in Gandhinagar on Wednesday. Tawde sought Gujarat’s approval for the proposed transfer of Asiatic lions to Mumbai Zoo

The festival has been organised by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) in association with the Vanyavani Foundation and is centred on the theme “Connecting Habitats, Thriving Wildlife”
