A powerful explosion has rocked a Syrian army site near Al Eis in northern Syria, with a series of further blasts reported shortly afterward. Syrian state media reported that an explosion occurred at the military site, while the cause remained unknown as authorities began investigating. A deadly explosion at a police compound in Kohat, Pakistan, has killed at least 16 people and injured more than 50 others. The blast took place as worshippers gathered for Friday prayers, with an explosives-laden vehicle reportedly crashing into the gate of the old police lines. Among those killed were civilians and police personnel, while one suspected terrorist was also reportedly killed following the explosion. Hospital officials confirmed that multiple bodies were brought in following the attack. The Kohat police compound blast comes amid heightened security operations against militant groups in Pakistan.
