West Asia War: Israel and Lebanon agree to extend ceasefire by three weeks

US President Donald Trump announced a three-week extension of the Israel-Lebanon ceasefire after talks with top officials. The US aims to support Lebanon and work towards lasting peace, while concerns over Hezbollah remain

With global tensions now looking to ease out, US President Donald Trump, on Thursday (local time), said that Israel and Lebanon have agreed to extend their ceasefire by an additional three weeks. Donald Trump further added that there have been talks with senior officials from both countries before coming to the agreement.

Speaking to the media at the White House on Thursday, Donald Trump said, "We had a great meeting with the very high officials of Lebanon and the very high officials of Israel, and I think that the president of Lebanon and the prime minister of Israel, over the next couple of weeks, will be coming here."
