Nepal flash floods: Death toll rises to 1,252, nearly 4,900 people still missing

The death toll from the devastating flash floods in Nepal rose to 1,252 on Thursday, as more bodies were recovered from the affected areas, news agency PTI reported. Thousands of people remain missing more than a week after the disaster, police said.

According to data released by Nepal Police, 355 bodies have been recovered from Chitawan district, 218 from Nawalparasi East, and 208 from Nawalparasi West. The Nawalparasi West figure includes 18 bodies recovered from India and handed over to the district.
