Gaza rescue workers searched the ruins of a seven-storey bombed-out apartment building that collapsed overnight, killing at least 12 Palestinians — including five children — and injuring 14 others.

With nearly 100 people still trapped beneath the rubble, the disaster highlights the danger facing tens of thousands of Palestinians who continue living in an estimated 2000 structures heavily damaged by Israeli airstrikes across Gaza.
