Omar HenrySouth Africa are living up to their ICC World Test Championship winners tag. Another series has been pocketed by Temba Bavuma’s side through their 2-1 conquest over Australia. It was a very intriguing Test series, very unpredictable.  And that’s possibly telling you in a way that both teams are in a transition stage. Whether they are going to make progress by the end of the season through the amount of Test cricket they are going to play remains to be seen, and so it could become a very interesting Test championship.

I am not surprised by South Africa winning the series. I knew that they were trying to find two or three batters. And then, experimenting with either the batting all-rounder or the bowling all-rounder just to give them some depth. And it worked for them because both — Wiaan Mulder and Marco Jansen — got runs and wickets. The way Mulder bats at the lower end is actually very dangerous; it takes the game away from the opposition. Whether that is going to work abroad, I am not sure but in South African conditions, I think it will work.
