Being held from September 26 to October 12, the exercise is themed “Power in Partnership” and focuses on joint training, operational coordination and interoperability among participating air forces

Australia, the United States, the United Arab Emirates, France, Germany, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh are participating as Friendly Foreign Countries (FFCs). Several other countries are also taking part as observers

The exercise features a range of fighter, transport and air-to-air refuelling aircraft, including the F-35 Lightning II, Rafale, F-16, A400M, MRTT, C-130, C-130J and KC-30A

The participating aircraft will operate alongside IAF platforms during various missions, allowing aircrew, mission planners and support personnel to train together and exchange operational experience

The exercise follows the first edition of Tarang Shakti held in 2024. The IAF said the 2026 edition will focus on advanced joint training, interoperability, aerospace safety and a better understanding of the participating forces' operational procedures and capabilities

The IAF said the exercise will showcase India's operational capabilities and growing indigenous aerospace and defence capabilities while strengthening military cooperation with partner countries.
