West Bengal: Two arrested in connection with attack against BJP leaders in Jalpaiguri

Jalpaiguri Police arrested two men, Shahanoor Alam and Tofail Hossain, for their alleged role in the attack on BJP MP Khagen Murmu and MLA Shankar Ghosh in North Bengal. BJP leaders called the arrests an eyewash, demanding strict action and invoking the SC/ST Atrocities Act against the attackers

After an attack on the BJP leaders in West Bengal, the Jalpaiguri police have arrested two more absconding accused persons. The accused have been arrested for their direct involvement in the attack on BJP MP Khagen Murmu and BJP MLA Shankar Ghosh in North Bengal, Superintendent of Police (SP) Jalpaiguri said.

As reported by news agency ANI, the two accused were arrested around 3 am on Thursday in the Nagrakata area. Moreover, the police officials have also highlighted that the accused have been identified as Shahanoor Alam and Tofail Hossain.
