At least three people were killed, and three others sustained injuries after a dumper truck collided with a crane and an auto-rickshaw parked on the side of the road, in south <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-crime-news/article/73-year-old-homemaker-found-dead-with-her-throat-slit-19986182" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Delhi's Sarita Vihar</a> early on Sunday, officials said.&nbsp;
The incident took place at around 3.20 am. CCTV installation work was underway near the parked vehicles as part of the Safe City Project at the time of the accident.
According to preliminary information, the dumper truck was coming from <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/news/india-news/article/uttar-pradesh-noida-worker-protest-turns-violent-vehicles-torched-in-gautam-buddha-nagar-23625479" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Uttar Pradesh's Noida</a> when it collided with the crane and auto-rickshaw parked at the roadside.
The deceased have been identified as Umesh, 23, Praveen, 35, and Suraj, 34. The latter was the HR Manager of the company involved in the Safe City Project, officials said.
The three injured victims, Akash, Anup and Khem Singh, are currently undergoing treatment.
One individual, identified as Sudhir, escaped unharmed in the incident.
The driver of the dumper truck fled from the spot following the accident, and efforts are being made to trace him.
Further investigation into the incident is currently underway.
In a similar road tragedy, three people lost their lives, and another was critically injured in a serious accident in Mumbai early on Sunday, officials said.
The accident involved a high-end car and took place on the <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/photo/in-photos-3-killed-1-injured-as-speeding-bmw-crashes-on-mumbai-coastal-road-113164/1" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Mumbai Coastal Road</a>.
According to information received from the Coastal Road Control Room, the accident occurred at around 5.20 a.m. near Lotus Jetty, opposite Lala College.
The car was travelling from Marine Drive towards Haji Ali when the driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle, reportedly due to overspeeding.
Following the accident, all four occupants of the car were rushed to Nair Hospital, where emergency medical teams assessed their condition.
According to an update issued by the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Nair Hospital at around 8.40 a.m., three of the occupants were declared brought dead by doctors.
Among those who died were a 21-year-old and a 17-year-old, while the identity and other details of the deceased were yet to be ascertained.
