Sukhbir Singh Badal injured in knife attack at Nanded gurdwara, assailant held

Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) chief and former Punjab deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal was injured in a knife attack Maharashtra’s Nanded on Thursday, police said.

He was attacked inside Gurdwara Mata Sahib Devan Ji Mugat at 1.45 pm while he was climbing down the steps by a Nihang (member of a martial order of Sikhs) with a kirpan (curved dagger), Nanded SP Neelabh Rohan said, adding the assailant has been taken into custody.
