The Maharashtra Association of Resident Doctors (BMC MARD) has expressed deep grief over the tragic death of doctor, a government medical officer at Sub-District Hospital in Phaltan.

Highlighting the pressures faced by doctors in peripheral hospitals, including professional isolation, heavy workloads, limited administrative support, and inadequate oversight, BMC MARD said these factors can exacerbate mental distress. The doctor reportedly faced harassment and humiliation, linked to a departmental inquiry, and named two police officials in her suicide note, alleging physical assault and mental harassment.
