The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for Pune as the city is witnessing unseasonal heavy rain, lightning, and hailstorms across several parts of the city on Thursday afternoon, causing waterlogging and disrupting daily life.

After a sharp rise in temperatures earlier in the day, a sudden weather shift brought intense showers to Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad around 2:30 pm, catching commuters and pedestrians off guard during peak hours. Many were seen scrambling for shelter as the downpour intensified.
