Pinarayi Vijayan visits Wayanad landslide site as death toll rises to five

Senior CPI(M) leader Pinarayi Vijayan visited the Wayanad landslide site, relief camp and hospital on Thursday as the death toll rose to five. He reviewed rescue efforts, met injured survivors and enquired about their condition amid continuing rainfall

According to unofficial figures, there were around 450-500 houses in Mundakkai in Wayanad district, Kerala, but only 34-49 are now left in the area. Pic/PTI
Senior CPI(M) leader Pinarayi Vijayan on Thursday visited the landslide-hit site at Kalladi in this district, besides calling on those undergoing treatment at the hospital.
Senior party leaders M V Govindan and M V Jayarajan accompanied the Leader of Opposition in the Kerala Assembly during the visit.
