Tamil Nadu Minister Narayanasamy Anand said the state government was making arrangements to rescue those who remained missing. He added that four ministers had been sent to Delhi to coordinate with the Union government on the rescue and relief efforts.
One of the rescued pilgrims described the terrifying moments when floodwaters suddenly surged through the area. The survivor said the group initially believed a dam had been opened after seeing a lorry and bus being swept away.
