Maharashtra: Police bust illegal LPG gas refilling racket in Chakan; seize 251 cylinders

The Property Crime Cell of Pimpri-Chinchwad Police raided an illegal LPG gas refilling unit in Chakan and seized 251 cylinders, refilling equipment, and a vehicle worth Rs 9.71 lakh. Two accused were arrested, while the gas agency owner has been booked and is under investigation

In a major action against illegal and potentially dangerous LPG gas refilling activities, the Property Crime Cell of the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police on Thursday busted an unauthorised gas refilling racket operating in the Chakan market area, seizing 251 LPG cylinders, refilling equipment, and a vehicle collectively worth Rs 9.71 lakh.

Caught in act

Police said they received information about the illegal action at Chakan Market in Khed taluka. Following the information, a police team raided the premises and caught the accused red-handed. The arrested accused have been identified as Prakash Siddhinna Jalagni, 32, a resident of Chakan and Tushar Prafulla Wasale, 36, a resident of Ektanagar, Chakan.
